With its Asian collections, the Museum Angewandte Kunst is actually a universal museum which, in addition to the classic focal points of an arts and crafts museum such as ceramics, metal and textile art, also includes outstanding works of sculpture, painting and printmaking. These include 53 works of Chinese painting from the 16th to 20th centuries, which have been extensively researched in the run-up to this exhibition. Many of them are being presented to the public for the first time. After the lecture in the Historic Villa Metzler, Dr. Stephan v. d. Schulenburg will give a guided tour of the exhibition.

Whether in nature, in society or at an entertaining evening like this one: Every particle, every action, every person makes an important contribution to the whole. It’s the same with the molecules in chemical dyeing and finishing processes in fashion production.

A quiz will offer you an interactive deep dive into the chemical processes of the fashion industry and you can enjoy an augmented reality art installation by Frankfurt artist Maiken Laackmann and exciting impulses from the Frankfurt label Frischbeutel and the start-up Vidar Sports. The evening will be hosted by Jennifer Najarian, who studied fashion and textile management, and you can swap your own clothes for those of other guests in the open closet.

The event is free of charge.
