B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2015 Expanded Senses: Experiencing and Shifting Boundaries with All the Senses

7 October - 11 October 2015

The second iteration of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image will take place in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region in autumn 2015 under the guiding theme: Expanded Senses: Experiencing with all Senses and Shifting Boundaries.

New technologies generate new images that expand our perception of reality or are capable of controlling our bodies by way of self-tracking systems. The second edition of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2015 will take a look at how these technologies interrelate. Within this context, we will explore the relationship between the moving picture, in all its multifarious forms, and the biennial leitmotif Expanded Senses: Experiencing and Shifting Boundaries with All the Senses.

The B3 is interdisciplinary and cross-genre by definition. Uniting some thirty venues in the Rhine-Main region, it offers an international platform for some two hundred artists, scientists, technology providers and up-and-coming talents. Back in 2013, the biennial debut was already a huge hit with its approximately 25,000 visitors from twelve countries.
The exhibition MODE BEWEGT BILD: The Fashion Film Effect and videoinstallations of Brian Eno as well as Sense of Doubt and Brian Eno. My Life in Light to be staged at the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt will form the core of the 2015 B3 Biennial.
