  How has the Stiftung Buchkunst evolved since its founding in 1966, and how has book design changed over the decades? Drawing on exhibits from the exhibition, Uta Schneider (Executive Director of the Stiftung Buchkunst from 2000 to 2012) and Ralf de Jong (Professor of Typography at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen) will speak with Birte Kreft (Executive Director of the Stiftung Buchkunst) about the foundation’s history, its evolution, and the books that have shaped this process. An open conversation about design, institutions, and the stories that books tell.

  What significance does book design hold today – and what role will it play in the future? Together with Florian Lamm (Lamm & Kirch, Leipzig) and Helene Hohmann (a graduate of the HfG Offenbach), Birte Kreft (Executive Director of the Stiftung Buchkunst) and Jonas Deuter (curator of the exhibition On Display: How Graphic Design Shapes Us) discuss current developments, new challenges, and the future of book culture in the digital age. The focus is on diverse perspectives from the fields of design, education, and institutions – and on the question of how we can further explore the concepts of quality and book design.
