Angewandte Walk We need a new museum

Audio Walk on Annaliese Ohm

The Audio Walk Angewandte Walk. We need a new museum chronicles the work of Dr. Annaliese Ohm, the former director of what is now the Museum Angewandte Kunst.

Eight audio stops in total shed light on different thematic focuses within her work: from being a director and curator, to building bridges, to the most important question – Who was Annaliese Ohm?

Five stops are located in the outdoor area of the Museum Angewandte Kunst. They are marked by signs with icons that bear QR codes on them. Scanning the QR code via a mobile device leads directly to a web app that guides you through the audio walk. There is also a prologue and an epilogue that can only be found in the app and are not assigned to a particular station. They form the beginning and the end of the tour. Three stops are located inside the museum itself. To visit these on site, a museum ticket must be purchased. There is no set sequence to the guide; with GPS turned on, on-site navigation is possible. Should that not be provided, the tour will still work without GPS and the audio files can be listened to from any location. We kindly ask you to use headphones.

In addition to the already available languages German and English, the app was expanded on November 2, 2022 to include Turkish, Russian, and simplified German.

A web app by Linon Medien KG with audio contributions by Katharina Wittenbrink. Concept, texts and project management Lieve Brocke, Xenia Kitaeva, Julia Psilitelis, Ann-Katrin Spieß.

The audio guide is sponsored by the Adolf und Luisa Haeuser Foundation for the Preservation of Art and Culture, the Dr. Hans Feith and Dr. Elisabeth Feith Foundation, the International Women´s Club of Frankfurt e.V. and the Frankfurt-based maecenia Foundation for Women in Science and Art. Simplified German was made possible by Stabstelle Inklusion.

In addition, the tour has been extended by an augmented reality app: eight interactive stops with different thematic focuses invite users to explore the history and certain objects of the Museum Angewandte Kunst in more detail. Users can become curators themselves, for example, and create their own virtual exhibition in the permanent exhibition Elementary Parts. From the Collections.
