The Post-Binary How will a creative artificial intelligence change tomorrow’s society?

The Post Binary is a conference featuring talks and workshops dealing with the impact of artificial intelligence on art and design practices. It asks about a future that is currently emerging.
On 10 November internationally acclaimed speakers such as Ali Eslami (Google DeepMind), Luba Elliot (AI curator) and Mario Klingemann (artist) are invited to the Museum Angewandte Kunst in order to discuss the prospects of a society molded by artificial intelligence. Moreover, the conference encourages a discussion about the influence of new technologies on artistic practices in general.
With software becoming smarter and robots ever more versatile, innovation and automation become seemingly omnipresent in large aspects of our lives. Although many applications such as self-driving cars, AI systems for clinical diagnostics or seamless augmented reality are still under development, there is evidently an immense potential to shake up the status quo. It is up to programmers and developers to create new toolkits — for better or for worse.
The talks on 10 November at the Museum Angewandte Kunst are open to all. As space is limited, a registration is required.
We ask for a participation fee of 5 EUR (free of charge for students of the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach).
On 8 & 9 November two workshops are offered at the HfG Offenbach (for beginners as well as more advanced participants), which are meant to convey a sense of the abilities and the limits of present day artificial intelligence. Attendance is free.
