For a democratic and solidaristic society, it is essential that its cultural institutions take a clear stance against all forms of contempt and exclusion. We see ourselves as open spaces for education, aesthetic experience, and societal discourse. This obliges us to advocating – boldly and innovatively – for the participation of all people in cultural life. We represent and embody the values of liberal democracy and are committed to safeguarding its future. We reject any instrumentalization of our themes and spaces for party-political purposes. We remain in dialogue with one another in order to collectively push back against anti-democratic, authoritarian, and right-wing populist positions.
