The exhibition Dare to Design – German Design Graduates 2024 by the German Design Council at the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt am Main presents innovative projects, positions and visions of young product and industrial designers. The 45 graduation projects from 22 German universities are characterized by a variety of topics and differentiated design approaches – and in particular by their potential to help shape social change in a forward-looking way.
Four winning projects will be chosen from the eleven finalists selected by an expert jury and announced at the opening on August 30, 2024.
The 45 designs presented in the exhibition show promising solutions with which the young designers are tackling the challenges of our time. They operate at the intersection of culture, society, research, technology and sustainability – the topics range from circular product design for electronics and wind energy in urban areas to medical solutions using 3D printing and robot-assisted craftsmanship.
The eleven finalists of this year’s German Design Graduates, who were selected by an expert jury in a multi-stage process from a total of 220 submissions, reflect the innovative power that design can have in social and economic change processes.
