Program in August

01. August - 31. August 2020

New exhibition on the 2nd floor of the Museum Angewandte Kunst

In spring 2019, the Frankfurt artists’ group finger has settled ten bee colonies in the garden of the Museum Angewandte Kunst. Florian Haas and Andreas Wolf have conceived exhibition spaces for the park’s residents that deal with social and ecological themes. From 18 August, the exhibition Neues Museum für Bienen offers the opportunity to view the exhibition rooms on the second floor of the museum. In addition, documentary photographs of other stations of the Neues Museum für Bienen and a graphic pollen analysis of the museum’s own honey will be on display.

The German Museum for Black Entertainment and Black Music is Germany’s leading Museum for Black culture, popular music and history. It’s first stop is the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt/Main. It encompasses a comprehensive archive of records, magazines, autographs and memorabilia, which are exhibited in a lively place of communication and discussion of Black history and are accompanied by a diverse programme. Whether alone or on a guided tour, the audience is immersed in a movement that brings together stars such as Mola Adebisi, Tic Tac Toe or Sydney Youngblood. In their juxtaposition they gain a new visibility and reveal similarities and differences in their productions, strategies and attributions.

Admission: 5 EUR, prior online ticket purchase & booking of time slots necessary for visiting the museum and events of the accompanying programme.
